The Florida Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking supports existing Florida law, which requires alcohol importation, distribution and sale be made through licensed businesses in Florida that can be held accountable for violations of state law. There is a growing effort to dismantle this legal system, therefore creating an unregulated, unaccountable system that would open a new avenue for minors to get alcohol.

The issue of state authority over the importation of alcohol is now before the United States Supreme Court. As the nation decides over unaccountable, unregulated out-of-state sales, Floridians have to face this new fight in protecting their minors.

The Coalition hopes to prevent underage drinking by keeping restricted access to minors, ensuring accountability through the three-tier system and preventing illegal online alcohol purchases.
